Duty Schedules for Trimester 3
Thank you for working on the duty schedules for the remainder of the year. It definitely takes a village! All of the schedules are posted below (they will also be posted in the building near the stations).
Important duty guidelines are listed below. Please read carefully because some have changed.
- Must be on morning duty station by 7:20 am.
- Students should not be dismissed for buses until the wing before you has cleared. This includes those student exiting on the side doors (because they are traveling the opposite direction from the younger students. We want the younger students to get to the buses first).
- Each teacher with bus duty should stand on/near the newly painted pawprints to ensure we are spread for adequate supervision of all students. There should be no running, no walking in grass, no cell phones out, etc.
- Teachers with afternoon duty should have a partner or neighboring teacher watch her class in the hallway so he/she can get to afternoon duty promptly at 3:00.
- Teachers on carline duty should escort the carline students to the carline. You may want to have one other teacher on the hall assist with walking them.
- All other teachers on the hall should stand in the hallway in front of their rooms until all students have exited past their rooms.
- If you cannot make it to your duty due to absence, meeting, etc, you must find a replacement by contacting someone on your duty team.

We are attaching a test preparation checklist as a resource. Please read it slowly and carefully as there is a lot of information that needs to be followed exactly. In the checklist are very specific dates (trainings, etc.) that need to be followed exactly to ensure we are prepared for testing. The checklist will need to be completed fully by Friday, March 17th and turned into Mrs. Naylor or Mrs. Kidd.
2nd-5th Grade Teachers- your students will be receiving DRC ACAP Prep every Tuesday for the next 3 weeks during their skills time. They will be learning the platform and how tests will be worded, etc. It is vital that your students bring their chromebooks to Skills for the next 3 weeks.
In your checklist, we are including additional resources that you can use in your classroom to prepare for testing. There is a link to Schoology resources that you can use per content area (instructions in checklist).
In your checklist are dates for chromebook system readiness checks. In this form, there are step by step instructions on HOW to talk your students through this process. It is REQUIRED that you complete this form so that we know what classes are having chromebook issues.

Please use this time to remind your students that they are NOT to open a door for any adult. EVERY visitor must go through the front office.
Thank you for helping to ensure our school is safe!
Chromebooks
Our 3rd and 4th graders will be getting new Chromebooks this year (before testing). Third and fourth grade teachers, please make sure you have every student's Chromebook and charger in your room before February 28th. Please avoid sending them home during this time so we have the full inventory here at school. Our Technology Department will begin trading them out on February 28th.
Black History Month
This week we will honor Black History Month during our morning announcements. Daily precepts will be quotes from Famous Black Americans who have made an impact on our world. Please consider using time in your morning meetings to discuss how these quotes can drive us to make an impact. We are excited to see the student work from your classroom Black History Month lessons. Some classes have already implemented these Social Studies lessons, and other classes are implementing this week.

Paine Precepts - Black History Month
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world” – Harriet Tubman
Born a slave, Harriet Tubman dreamed of freedom. Through strength, patience, and passion, she eventually escaped to become an abolitionist and a “conductor” of the Underground Railroad leading other enslaved people to freedom. She influenced and changed countless lives through her many roles as a nurse, Union spy, and women’s suffrage supporter – and her words and story still inspire us today.
“Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.” – Dr. Mae Jemison
Dr. Mae Jemison has always imagined a boundless future for herself. Not only is she the first African American woman to be admitted to NASA’s astronaut training program in 1987, but Dr. Jemison is also the first African American female astronaut! On September 12, 1992, she flew into space aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor. She is also a medical trained doctor, served in the Peace Corps, and currently runs a medical technology company.
“Practice creates confidence. Confidence empowers you.” – Simone Biles
Simone Biles started practicing gymnastics at the young age of six, teaching herself to flip off mailboxes. Over the years, she did countless more flips to refine technique and skills – and to build the necessary confidence to become the success that she is today. Simone is now known as one of the sports’ greatest athletes with a combined total of 32 Olympic and World Championship medals.
“We did not come to fear the future. We came here to shape it.” – Barack Obama
With hard work and dedication to service, Barack Obama was persistent and insistent on shaping the future. He made his mark on history as the 44th president of the United States and the first African American to serve in the office.
