Weekly Update

B Week

We hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving and a restful break.  You all deserve it!  We only have three weeks before Christmas break.  Let' s hold our students to the highest behavior expectations so we can make every learning moment count!  The next three weeks will pass so quickly and we will be starting the second semester before we know it.

PST Meetings

Our PST Meetings will be held via Zoom on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Wednesday Collaboration

We will use this time to assess coverage of our content standards prior to the conclusion of semester 1.  We will identify which standards have been taught, our timeline for teaching the remaining standards, and discuss any that may need to be revisited.

Thursday - PAWS Time

PAWS time is a duty hall or small group assistance opportunity for students. We will begin our PAWS time this Thursday, where our specialist teachers will be available to help students who need additional help or practice.
  • This time may be used for the student to obtain assistance with a concept, catching up on an assignment, reading to a teacher, etc.  The teacher will write on the ticket the area of focus.
  • PAWS tickets will be placed in teacher boxes by Tuesday.
  • Behavior expectations will be extremely high, so please do not send student if you are anticipating any behavior issues.
  • Each teacher will be able to send up to 2 students to the Media Center during this time.  You may send the student(s) anytime from 12:00 until 1:30.  Students must bring a completed ticket with them.  Please make sure you include the time you are sending the student(s) and have included the items they need to work on.
  • Students will be sent back to class once the work is complete and no later than 1:45 (in time for 2:00 dismissal).  The the PAWS teacher will record the arrival and departure times, as well as work completed.
  • This time may not be used as a negative consequence.  PAWS Time should be viewed as positive where the focus is on:  Perserving, Achieving, Working, and Succeeding.

Thursday Afternoon

All faculty and staff will meet in the Media Center at 2:30.  At this time we will annnounce the Paine Elementary Teacher of the Year!
