A Week - August 12-16, 2024

Congratulations on a great start to the 2024-2025 school year!  Thank you for creating such a welcoming learning environment; classrooms look amazing!  Our Meet the Teacher events were a great success, and our first three days with students were the best!!!  We are so blessed with the best teachers, staff, students, and parents at Paine Elementary and it is going to be a GREAT Year!  

Focus Areas for 2024-2025

Our overarching message this year is to KNOW YOUR IMPACT.  Every decision we make and action we take impacts our students.  As discussed in our faculty meeting, two areas of focus this year will be: 

1) Collective Teacher Efficacy

2) Developing/Utilizing Cognitive Interest Cues (Hooks) to Engage Students in Learning

PES - August 2024

Please note on August calendar:  Our TCS Tax Vote is on Tuesday, 8/27 and we are encouraging all Trussville residents to please vote.  You are welcome to go and vote during your planning time on Tuesday.  As a result, we will NOT have a Thursday afternoon meeting on 8/29 (in order to provide this time back to you).

Paine Practice - BEST Practice!

Blanche joined our Sped Teachers with important planning!

Our incredible PTO provided us with breakfast Monday morning!

After discussing our goals we began the work on our IMPACT books.

I have had the privilege of witnessing some impactful teamwork between these two teachers this summer!

Welcome Back Students!

It was so good to welcome our students back this week.  We saw teachers building their classroom community in every single room in our building!!!

Announcement Helpers

Students With Birthdays that Day

Please send students who have birthdays each day to the office BY 7:55 to help with announcements.  (Please have an adult assist the little ones to the office and we will bring them back.)  Students with birthdays on Saturday or Sunday should be sent on Friday.

Classroom Schedules

Once you have your classroom schedule finalized, please post a copy outside of your door and email a copy to our admin team.

Tuesday - Breakfast

We are grateful to First Baptist Church who will be providing our Faculty & Staff with breakfast on Tuesday morning.

Teacher Collaboration

• Tuesday at 1:15 - PreK Teachers
• Wednesday during planning times - ALL K-5 Teachers

Faculty Meeting/PD on Thursday

We will have a faculty meeting/PD for all certified staff on Thursday at 2:15.  Be sure to bring your IMPACT books so we can work on them.  We will also go over some basic information on Cognitive Interest Cues/Hooks.

AIMS Testing Schedule

Our TCS Testing Team will begin working on our AimsWeb Reading testing the last week of August.  We will provide more information on when you may begin the computerized test (grades 2-5).  We will also provide more information regarding our plan for Exact Path Diagnostic Testing.  

Thursday - Early Dismissal

Early dismissal begins on Thursday.  We need for all classified staff to cover carline duty each Thursday afternoon.  Other duties will be based on the standard duty schedule.

Paine Family News

• Please keep Krissy Boyda and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Her precious mother passed away this week.
• Thank you for the prayers for Stefanie Baker, Hannah Lutz's mom, and for my dad (Lisa)! We are so grateful to our Paine Family!
