Weekly Update

  A Week - May 1-5

South PE will be outside this week (weather permitting)


Paine Practice...Best Practice
Andrea Barkers' EnRICh group is on their way to test the the bird replicas they created. They were talking about using straws to connect their replicas to represent birds hollow bones.

Reese Guthrie and Meleigha Swatek working with their EnRICh students on constructing circuits to light up their constructed City of Trussville buildings.

Frances Proctor and Kathleen Daniel are following the engineering design process to guide their EnRICh students in designing and creating games.

Architect, Hunter Swatek (also Meleigha's husband and former Paine student) met with our EnRICh young architects and is shown working with them on their blueprint designs.

Paine Counselors, Christy Naylor and Sara Taylor leading our grade level award assemblies on Friday.   


Blanche's X-STREAM 3rd Birthday Celebration

We will celebrate Blanche's 3rd Birthday on Friday.  Each grade will have a designated 45 minutes to engage in several Dog-Themed STREAM activities, have their picture made with Blanche, and have a special treat.  The celebration will be on the North Field (weather permitting).  We will have PTO volunteers there to help us.




EnRICh

EnRICh for grades 2-5 will meet on Tuesdays from 2:00-2:50 and Thursdays from 1:00-1:50.  


Formal Teacher Observations

We will continue our spring teacher observations this week.  


Collaboration Calendar

We plan to have grade level data meetings during collaboration on Wednesday (if testing is completed).  We will have a faculty meeting Thursday at 2:15.  We are excited to welcome Dr. Martin to our meeting to speak with our faculty and staff (at 2:45).

May 23rd Field Day & Class Parties

Many of you have asked about the May 23rd Field Day parties.  We are working on a schedule.  Students in grades 1-5 will participate in rotations as a class throughout the day (inside and outside) with their teachers.  Time will be allocated in the schedule for lunch and your class parties.  More information to follow soon!
(Kindergarten will participate in a separate experience on Friday, May 19th due to new Kinder Orientation on May 23rd.)
