Alabama Teacher of the Year Nominations

It is time for each school to nominate a teacher for the ALSDE Teacher of the Year.  Please click on the link below to nominate a teacher.  The nominations must be submitted by Tuesday, November 15th at 3:00 PM.  A selection committee will be appointed to review the nominations and select the Teacher of the Year.  The selection committee will be comprised of the following:  Principal, Assistant Principal, PTO President, Teacher, and a school Counselor.  Please provide specific details supporting your nomination.  Paine's Teacher of the Year will be announced on Thursday, December 1st.  Note:  You will need to be logged in to your school account to access the form.

MUSH Grant Application


Please consider applying for the MUSH Grant this year!  You may have an innovative idea for your classroom or grade level you would like to fund, or you could write one to support the EnRICh session you are teaching.


Trussville City Schools Foundation is excited to announce this year’s MUSH grant application is open. For the 2nd year, Grants will be awarded to up to $1500 per classroom, because of community support through our fundraising campaign, Join the Pack as well as successful fundraising events in 2022 and registration donations. 

 

The MUSH Grant program was developed to jump start INNOVATIVE teaching ideas throughout Trussville City School System.

 

As mentioned, Grants may be awarded up to $1,500 each. Submission is open to any teacher throughout the Trussville City School System. Grants will not be awarded to athletic programs. Physical Education and Health requests will be accepted.

 

Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 30, 2022 by midnight

 

Selection Criterion

Each application will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Project directly supports student learning.
  • Project needs to be INNOVATIVE, thinking “outside the box”.
  • Application clearly describes specific student outcomes and how success of the project will be measured.
  • Can be project support, equipment or software.
  • Everyday teaching materials such as copy paper, pencils, etc. will not be funded.
  • If you received a grant last year, you must wait until next year to apply again.
  • Estimated budget completed.
  • Continuous funding for a previously-funded project can only occur if the proposal requesting additional funding contains a clear, innovative educationally-sound extension of the work that was previously funded.
  • A final project report is required by the project leader if a project is funded.
  • One site visit may occur for funded projects by members of the Foundation.

 

All applications must be unique.

 

The application will be sent to your Principal, Superintendent, Technology Coordinator, and Curriculum and Instruction for approval which will be obtain by the Trussville City Schools Foundation.

 

Grants will be awarded in December.

Reminders

If you have to leave or change locations from your planned schedule, it is imperative that you let the office know where your students are (split list, etc.).  This is part of our safety plan.  Please let us know if you have any questions.


National STEM Day

Tuesday is National STEM Day.  Let's all celebrate by incorporating STREAM in our day!

Please welcome Mrs. Anna Snuggs to our Paine Family!  She will be our newest 1st grade teacher at Paine.  Mrs. Brandon will be in Mrs. Carly Payne's room for the next two weeks, so Mrs. Rachel English can be in Mrs. Garrett's room!
