Weekly Update

A Week

“Defining moments can be consciously created. You can be the architect of moments that matter.”

Custodian Schedule

We are so excited to announce that we will be utilizing a nighttime clearning service in addition to our current team of PES custodians.  Paine Elementary custodial staff will be responsible for all classrooms, library, teacher restrooms, teacher workrooms and offices. They will also be responsible for keeping the soap, paper towels, and toilet paper dispensers full in the restrooms.  We will be implementing a new schedule for each of our PES custodians based on these changes.

With the exception of the responsibilities of the PES custodial staff listed above the nighttime clearning crew will be responsible for the following:  all hallways, both gyms, including the upper area in the gym, both cafeterias, the nurses clinics, all bathrooms open to the hallways, and the office lobby.  All hallways will be buffed with a propane buffer every Tuesday and Thursday evening and surfaces will be dusted after buffing.

The nighttime crew will have access to our building between the hours of 4:00pm-2:00am Monday-Friday.  Please make it a habit to lock your classroom door each evening when you leave (since they will not need access to any classrooms).  The nighttime crew will begin on Monday, November 1st.

Team Member of the Month

Please use the link below to vote for our Team Member of the Month for INDIVIDUALITY.  Two team members will be honored with a parking space for the month of November and a $25 Amazon gift card.  Please vote by Tuesday afternoon so we can announce by Wednesday morning.

United Way Campaign

The United Way Campaign will run until November 5th.  Please be sure to return the forms to Christy Naylor by that date.

Book Fair

The Book Fair will run November 1st-10th.   It will be open for shopping every morning until noon.  The bookfair will be open to parents (outside) during our Fall Festival on Thursday

Wednesday

There will be NO required collaboration on Wednesday.  This is to provide teachers with additional time to catch up on grading, etc. for upcoming report cards.

Tornado Drill - Thursday Morning

We will have a Tornado Drill right after announcements on Thursday.  Please make sure you review your designated location prior to Thursday.

Fall Festival - Thursday

Please promote our Fall Festival with your parents!  It is Thursday from 3:00 until dark.  We are going to have so much fun!  Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard on the preparations.  Ellen will be putting the detailed flyer on social media on Monday, and flyers will be in your boxes to send home.

Early Dismissal on Friday/Lunch Schedule

As reported to all TCS stakeholders, we will dismiss this Friday at 1:00.  In order to get all student fed and ready for early dismissal, we will need to make a minor adjustment to our lunch schedule.  All classes will go to lunch 5 minutes earlier than their scheduled time and only stay for 25 minutes.  For example:  If your regular lunch time is 12:00-12:30, you would arrive in the lunchroom at 11:55 and leave at 12:20 (25 minutes later).

Friday Freeze

Friday Freeze was originally scheduled for this Friday, November 5th.  Due to early dismissal, we will move Friday Freeze to Friday, November 12th.

Keeping the PACE Tickets

We will keep a supply of Keeping the PACE tickets in each mailroom.  Please get what you need from this supply and let's keep handing out those tickets!

ACAP Individual Student Reports

ACAP Individual student reports will be sent home with report cards on November 12th.  We will provide classroom teachers with the ACAP data on current students prior to that date.
