Classroom Setup Guidelines

Please adhere to the following guidelines for setting up your classroom; this is to protect you and your students.

1.  Clean any clutter around the room.
It can be a breeding ground for germs, interfere with appropriate sanitizing protocols, and you will need the space.  Personal items that cannot be used this year should be taken home.  Remember, no cloth items such as couches, chairs, etc. may be used.  Extra furniture bought with school funds (that you do not need this year) may be stored in our furniture room.  Be sure to put your name on it so you get it back.  Rugs have already been removed, labeled with your name, and stored.

2.  Desks must be as far apart as possible (minimum of 3 feet) and facing the front.
We experimented with this in several classrooms to make sure all of your desks would fit and we were able to get 21 desks in a room easily with a distance of 3 feet on each side.  If you need to see an example, peek into one of the following rooms:  Bennett, Kizer, LoPresti, Barker, or Ekonen.  Please remember to only place 3 chairs at your kidney table to ensure social distancing with your small groups.

If you still have tables in your classroom, please see Ms. Rountree before you set things up, because we may be able to trade your tables for desks (just for this year) by using desks from the rooms of our teachers who will be teaching virtually.  Desks allow for more effective social distancing, so we want to use all of our desks first.  If you need any assistance with your classroom setup please see Ms. Rountree, and she will line up a custodian(s) to help you.

3. Remember not to slide/drag items across the floor (especially our freshly waxed hallways).
We have custodians available to help move items.  Please see Ms. Rountree and she will get you help.

4. If you have a Chromebook Cart, find space for it in your room.
We will need to open up the hallways to properly social distance.

We are here if you need us for anything!  Thank you!
