Weekly Update

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to our Paine Family! We had such an incredible week first semester at Paine Elementary. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication and hard work throughout the semester. Your commitment to our students and eachother, and the invaluable contributions you've made to our students' lives, have been truly remarkable. I hope you are enjoying Christmas break; this is a well-deserved opportunity to recharge, spend quality time with loved ones, and embrace the spirit of the season. Please know how loved and appreciated you are!


A Week - Jan 2-5

South PE will be outside this week (weather permitting)

Teachers and staff return on January 2nd; students return on January 3rd.

Workday on Tuesday, January 2nd

We will have an important faculty/staff meeting at 8:15 on Tuesday, January 2nd.  All certified staff should attend and any classified staff who works with students.


Collaboration on Wednesday, January 3rd

We will meet in the North Training Room to work on the following:

1st Grade - Math Planning
2nd Grade - ACAP Prep, Math Planning, Reading Comprehension
3rd Grade - ACAP Prep

Congratulations to PES Faculty & Staff

All Trussville City Schools earned an A on the latest school report card!  We are so proud of TCS!  I just want to say how proud I am of every Paine Faculty & Staff Member.  This is because of each of you!  




MUSH Grants

We are so thankful to the TCS Foundation for awarding grants to the following teachers.  Paine received 11 grants this year!  Thank you to everyone who applied!  Every application was impactful and innovative.  We will continue to work on these initiatives!

Grade Level Assemblies-Monday & Tuesday

We will have our grade level assemblies to recognize students for the 2nd 9 weeks.  The schedule for the assemblies is listed below:

Monday:  K-8:30, 1st-9:30 2nd 10:30

Tuesday:  3rd-8:30 4th-9:30 5th-10:30



Morning Meetings

This is a reminder:  Morning Meetings each day are a school and district expectation.  By facilitating these each day you are investing in the social and emotional well being of our students, and setting them up to learn for the day!  We have these factored into our master schedule.  Your daily morning meetings should begin promptly by 8:05 (right after announcements).  The meeting should only last 5-10 minutes.  If you need any support on ideas for your meetings, please let us know.  



AimsWeb Math Testing

We will continue our AimsWeb Math testing this week.  


Dress-up Days



Faculty/Staff Christmas Party

Our faculty/staff Christmas party will be on Thursday, 12/14 from 2:15 to 3:15 in the North Training Room  Our personal children may attend. We will have food, fun, and some prizes! 

 

Early Dismissal for Students on Friday
 
We will dismiss students at 12:00 on Friday, December 15, and will be operating under the following early dismissal schedule.  There will be no specials on Friday; please look for your adjusted PE and lunch times. 

Update:  We will do grab & go lunches, so please coordinate with your partner teacher to avoid all students having to walk to the lunchroom..  Please plan to eat in your classrooms or and outside spot (possibly in the courtyard) if weather permits.  Let the front office know where you are if you do not eat in the classroom.






Room Cleanup

Please have students get trash and unnecessary items out of desk and lockers before leaving on Friday.  Please make sure any food/candy bagged securely and placed in a high cabinet. Please make sure lamps, twinkle lights, etc. are turned off before you leave on Friday.

Paine Elementary Choir Performance - Thurs 12/7

Our choir's holiday concert is Thursday evening 12/7 & they would love to share the music with the whole school!  We will have performances in the North Gym for our students at the times below.  Please bring your classes to the north gym at that time.

10:30 - 4th & 5th



AimsWeb Math Testing

The AimsWeb Math testing window opened on Friday, 12/1.  Please make every effort to test all students (grades 2-5) this week since we have Christmas parties and other activities next week. Our team will pull Kindergarten and 1st Grade students (trying to test as many as possible this week). 


December Dress-up Days

We will have school dress-up days the week before Christmas break.  Please communicate to your parents.


Christmas Party

Our faculty/staff Christmas party will be on Thursday, 12/14 from 2:15 to 3:15.  Our personal children may attend. More information to follow.
