Weekly Update

C Week - May 15-18 (South PE Outside)

Thank you to our PTO

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful PTO for everything they did for our faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! They went above and beyond to let our staff know how loved and valued they are!  We have the best PTO!!! Here are just a few photos from this EPIC week!

5th Grade Extravaganza

Our 5th Grade Extravaganza was amazing.  Our students represented our school so well and everyone had a great time!  Now, on to the next step for our 5th graders!

Educator Effectiveness - PLPs

All Certified Employees must have the TINKER Section of your PLP in LINCSPRINGs complete and all evidence in before we can sign off on your PLP.

Chromebooks

Due to all excessive costs associated with breakage of Chromebooks, we will be moving back to class sets next year (versus assigning to individual students).  We will still have 1:1 access, but students will utilize their dedicated CB in the classroom. If a teacher asks for the CB to go home for an assignment, the student will take the CB with their # from their homeroom.  The STEM labs will also have a class set for all students to use. This will eliminate having to carry them all over the building. We will provide classroom teachers with a system to number their CBs in the Fall.  If you are departmentalized, student #1 in each of your classes will use that CB while they are in your class.  One of the reasons we are providing this information now is because students need to clean their CB before turning it in (this includes removing any stickers they may have placed on it).

Please click on the link below for instructions and an additional link to enter your CB inventory.

Pirates - The Musical

We are so excited about our upcoming musical!  Our teachers and students will get to see this on Monday or Tuesday (please see schedule below). We will call for grades to come to the north gym. Teachers, be sure to sit with your class. We need students on their best behavior.  Our musical theatre group has worked very hard on this production and everyone is going to love it!

Evening Show Times for the Community

We will also have evening shows for the community on Monday, May 15th & Tuesday, May 16th at 6:00 pm. Please spread the word!

End of Year Student Information Spreadsheets

On Friday, I shared your end of year student information sheet with you via Google.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Retirement Celebration - Dr. Brumlow

EnRICh Showcase

EnRICh Showcase Logistics

Please have your students work on your table/booth on Tuesday and Thursday during EnRICh.  On your table, you may have Chromebooks set up with the projects, pics, etc. and/or printed materials and actual projects.  Have your students make a large sign with the name of your EnRICh session to tape to the front of your table.  Please see the invitation above that will be sent out to parents on Monday.  UClase the link below to obtain a form EnRICh teachers will complete to let us know which students will be managing the booth (the times are in 30 minute intervals). Be sure to "make a copy" of the form before typing in information. On the form, put "booth closed" on the times when your students are at lunch or PE, but please assign students to all other times. You may also print it and handwrite it if easier. This form needs to be turned in to the office before you leave on Tuesday.

The second page of the link contains a printable form to put assigned times in student agenda books (so parents will know when to come).   We will tell parents to look for this Tuesday evening, so please complete all of this during Tuesday EnRICh.

Kindergarten Orientation

Please spread the word about our upcoming Kindergarten Orientation.

Field Day -  Tuesday, May 23rd

We will be on a completely different schedule on May 23rd for Field Day.  Students will have an opportunity to engage in outside activities for one hour (see green section).  They will also have a 30-minute dance/music rotation and a 30-minute arts rotation (more detail will follow on the sequence).  Classroom teachers may choose to participate with their students OR use this time to work in your room.  Our specialist teachers and other support staff will manage these activities (since we will not have regular specials on Tuesday).  You will pick up lunches from the lunchroom that day and do picnic lunches (so the lunch schedule is also different that day).

You may work with your grade level to use the "remaining" slots that day to schedule your class parties and other grade level activities on your hall.  You may want to set up different activities in rooms on your hall (this is optional). The could include crafts, a movie, board games, etc. The following is a sample of what a schedule with these rotations may look like.  Please allow time in your schedule for room cleanup.

Please let us know if you have any questions as you begin to plan the rest of the day for your students on May 23rd.

Weekly Update

Dear Paine Teachers,
One of my favorite weeks of the year is Teacher Appreciation Week, because you are SO deserving!  I want to express our heartfelt thanks for your commitment to our students (and each other). Each of you understands the importance of developing relationships with our students, focusing on the whole child, and seeing the potential in each and every student.  You pour your heart and soul into developing engaging lessons, teaching, and helping every child reach his/her full potential...and it does not go unnoticed.  Teaching is one of the most challenging jobs in the world, but also the most rewarding.  I hope you know how loved and appreciated you are! Paine Elementary is GREAT because of our GREAT teachers!
Thank you!!!
Lisa
