Summer Update - Important Information

We hope everyone is off to having a restful, fun summer!  We took a brief break from providing updates in our blog due to the time sensitivity of information sent out during our C2C experience. We will begin putting all important information and summer updates in the blog, so please check your email for notifications.  Remember: This blog is strictly communication for our faculty and staff.

We are so grateful for our Paine Family.  We are reminded to support eachother during this challenging time in our world.

Summer Flex Days

Teachers, please make sure you have signed up for both of your summer flex days.  If you have any questions, please contact us immediately.  

Important Building Information

Paine Elementary will phase-in a reopening work schedule for 12-month employees June 8 – July 5, 2020 with modifications and restrictions.  We will be working a staggered schedule (Monday-Thursday) and our building will not be open to any non-essential visitors.  Our building will be closed on Friday-Saturday for deep cleaning.  The Governor will address additional guidelines on or before July 5, so we are taking it one month at a time.  

We will have new procedures in place for employees returning to work in the building this summer, including employees who will be working to distribute student items next week.  Key card access will remain turned off during this time.  If for any reason you need to come into the building during this timeframe, please contact an admin.  Please do not plan on working your classrooms during this time.  

Distribution of Student Items this Week

We are so grateful to everyone who has volunteered to distribute student belongings next week.  If you are on the schedule please see the important schedule and information below.

Important Information:  Everyone must strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols outlined in a packet (that will be provided) for returning workers.  Please arrive between 7:00-7:15 (if you are working in the morning).  If you are coming mid-day, please call Ms. Rountree on 205-484-6063; she will meet you at the front office.  Everyone, please make sure you take your temperature before arriving to work.  Please wear a mask upon entering the building and bring a pen with you.  You will need to read through the packet at the front lobby table and follow the established protocols before going to work. 

Please note:  Everyone must wear a mask and gloves during the distribution of students’ items.

PES Admin will go over the distribution process with you, and your assignment, prior to 7:45 (or upon arrival if schedule begins mid-day).

Faculty/Staff Updates

Congratulations to Payge Chambliss on her retirement.  She has positively impacted the lives of so many children and she will be greatly missed at Paine!  We wish her many blessings!

Penny Moore will be looping up to 1st Grade next year! Kim Dahlke will move from 2nd Grade to 4th Grade and will be partnering with Elizabeth Bennett.  Troy Adams will work with 5th grade students/teachers next year and John Freeman with our 4th grade students/teachers.

We would like to welcome Madison Blank, Special Education Teacher, to our Paine Family!  We will create two rooms from Heather Matos' current unit.  Madison will be working with our younger students.  She helped in our preschool in December!  We are so excited to have her join our family!
